On 03.08.2020 Kerala Public Service Commission announced recruitment notification for the post of Fire and Rescue Officer (Driver) vacancy in various districts of Kerala. Through this recruitment notification, Kerala Public Service Commission plans to recruit the post of Fire and Rescue Officer (Driver) vacancy in the Fire and Rescue Services Department Kerala. Applications are invited online only by the `One Time Registration’ system from qualified candidates for the under mentioned post. Candidates shall apply only through the online facility provided on the website of the Kerala Public Service Commission. Method of appointment : Direct Recruitment. Note: Differently Abled and female candidates are not eligible to apply for this post
Age limit : 18-26. Candidates born between 01.01.1994 and01.01.2002 (both dates included) only eligible to apply for this post. Other Backward Communities, Scheduled caste converts and SC/ST candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation as provided under sub rule(c) of the Rule 10 of the general rules. Other conditions regarding age relaxation are not applicable to this post.
1) Must have passed Plus two or its equivalent examination. Note : KS & SSR Part II Rule 10 (a) ii is applicable.
2) Must possess valid current Motor Driving Licence with endorsement for driving heavy goods vehicle or heavy passenger vehicle with badge. Note: Candidates shall possess a current Driving License throughout allthe stages of selection process as on the last date of application, OMR Test, Practical Test, Interview etc.Preferential: Diploma in Computer Application.
3) Physical Qualifications: The Candidates must be physically fit and should possess the following minimum physical standards as prescribed below
Note: Physical Measurement of the candidates will be taken prior to the test and those who do not satisfy the prescribed Physical standards will not be allowed to participate in the Physical Efficiency test under any circumstances.
4) Visual Standards : Must possess the Visual Standards specified below without glasses.
Note 1:Each eye must have full field of vision. 2. Colour Blindness, Squint or any morbid conditions of the eyes or lids of either eye shall be a disqualification for appointment.
Note 2 : Must be certified to possess the visual standards specified above without glasses. Candidates should produce a Medical Certificate issued by a Medical Officer not below the rank of a Civil Surgeon as to the candidates physique, fitness and capacity for rough outdoor work and also of the visual standards when the commission intimates.
Physical Efficiency Test – A Physical Efficiency test will be conducted by the commission to assess the physical efficiency of the candidates. Candidates must qualify in at least 5 out of 8 items in the physical efficiency test showing the minimum standards of efficiency as noted below
Preferential – If other conditions being equal, the Home Guard Volunteers who have completed a tenure of three years in that organizations and who have satisfactorily undergone training in Fire Fighting during the period of tenure shall be treated as having preferential qualification for direct recruitment to this post.
Probation – Every person appointed to the post shall from the date on which he joins duty after he completes the training and examination will be on probation for a total period of two years on duty within a continuous period of three years.
Training – Candidates selected should undergo a course of training for a period of 4 months in the State Fire Service Training School, and pass the examination in the subject prescribed for the course.

Name of the candidate and the date of taking photograph should be printed at the bottom portion. The photograph once uploaded meeting all requirements shall valid for 10 years from the date of uploading.There is no change in other instructions regarding the uploading of photographs. No application fee is required. Candidates shall take a printout of the application by clicking the link Registration Card in their profile.Candidates are responsible for the correctness of the personal information and secrecy of password. Before the final submission of the application on the profile candidates must ensure correctness of the information on their profile.They must quote the User-ID for further communication with the Commission. Application submitted is provisional and cannot be deleted or altered after submission. The application will be summarily rejected if noncompliance with the notification is found in due course of processing. Documents to prove qualification, Experience, Community, age etc have to be produced as and when called for.
