NDA Exam 2020 (I and II) Notification – UPSC National Defence Academy has released notification for NDA & NA Exam (II) 2020 scheduled to be held in the month of September 2020. The NDA Exam will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on September 6, 2020 for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA, and for the Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC).

UPSC exam for admission to National Defence Academy NDA and Indian Naval Academy NA is conducted twice every year by UPSC. However, due to the corona virus pandemic this year it is being conducted only once.

Eligibility Criteria for NDA (II)  2020

Nationality :
A candidate must be unmarried male and must be :
i) a citizen of India
ii) a subject of Bhutan,
iii) a subject of Nepal
iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India
v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Age Limits

Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 02nd January, 2002 and not later than 1st January, 2005 are eligible

Physical Standards

Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2020 as per guidelines given in Appendix-IV.

Educational Qualifications

For Army Wing of NDA12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
Naval Academy12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or University.
  • For Air Force & Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian.
  • Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination

How to Apply for NDA (II) 2020 – Application Process

  • Candidates should also have details of one photo ID viz. Aadhar Card/ Voter Card/ PAN Card/ Passport/ Driving License/ School Photo ID/Any other photo ID Card issued by the State/Central Government. The details of this photo ID will have to be provided by the candidate while filling up the online application form.
  • The same photo ID card will also have to be uploaded with the Online Application Form. This photo ID will be used for all future referencing and the candidate is advised to carry this ID while appearing for examination/SSB.

NDA (II) 2020 Selection Process

The Union Public Service Commission shall prepare a list of candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination as fixed by the Commission at their discretion.
Such candidates shall appear before a Services Selection Board for Intelligence and Personality Test where candidates for the Army/Navy wings of the NDA and 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme of Indian Naval Academy will be assessed on Officers Potentiality and those for the Air Force in addition to the above will have to qualify Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS).
Candidates with Air Force as one of the choices would also undergo CPSS if they qualify SSB and are willing.

SSB Test/Interview

The papers in all the subjects will consist of objective type questions only
The question papers (test booklets) of mathematics and part “b” of general ability test will be set bilingually in Hindi as well as English.
In the question papers, wherever necessary, questions involving the metric system of Weights and Measures only will be set.
Candidates must write the papers in their own hand. In no circumstances will they be allowed the help of a scribe to write the answers for them.
The Commission has the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects at the examination. The candidates are not permitted to use a calculator or Mathematical or logarithmic table for answering objective type papers (Test Booklets). They should not, therefore, bring the same inside the Examination Hall.

Two-Stage Selection Procedure

Two-stage selection procedure based on Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test has been introduced at Selection Centers/Air Force Selection Boards/Naval Selection Boards.
All the candidates will be put to stage-one test on the first day of reporting at Selection Centres/Air Force Selection Boards/Naval Selection Boards. Only those candidates who qualify at stage one will be admitted to the second stage/remaining tests.
Those candidates who qualify stage II will be required to submit the Original Certificates along with one photocopy each of: (i) Original Matriculation pass certificate or equivalent in support of date of birth, (ii) Original 10+2 pass certificate or equivalent in support of educational qualification.

UPSC NDA (II) Syllabus

UPSC NDA 2 Syllabus will consist of subjects like Mathematics and General Ability. General Ability covers English, Chemistry, General Science and General Knowledge. Check syllabus topics in the table below:

NDA Admit Card 2020

a)NDA admit cards will be made available one month before the exam i.e. in the first week of August according to the official notification. Candidates are required to enter their Registration ID and Date of Birth in order to download the NDA admit card 2020.
b)Details like name of the candidate, roll number, exam centre, date and time of the examination, venue of the exam will be mentioned on the admit card
c)Candidates are also required to carry valid ID proofs and two passport-sized photographs to the exam centre.

UPSC NDA 2 2020 Result

  1. The Result of NDA 2 2020 will be released after the written exam and release of answer key on the website.
  2. The result of the NDA 2 exam will be conducted on 06th September 2020, so the result will be announced after a few months.
