NPCIL Selection Process:

For Category II- Stipendiary Trainee/Technician (ST/TM), Technician-B and Driver:

The selection is based on Stage-1 Preliminary Test and Stage-2 Advanced Test & Skill Test.

Examination Schemes:

Stage-1 Preliminary Test:

  • It will be screening examination to shortlist candidates.
  • The examination will comprise 50 Multiple Choice Questions (Choice of four answers).
  • Duration of 1 hour
  • 3 marks for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for each
    incorrect answer.

For Scientific Assistant-B & Category-I Stipendiary Trainee/Scientific Assistant (ST/SA):

The selection will be based on the overall merit in the written examination and personal interview.

Written Examination:

  • Written examination will comprise of 100 Multiple Choice questions (choice of 04 answers)
  • 2 hours exam duration
  • Exam consisting of two parts. Part-1- English & Quantitative Aptitude for 35 questions and Part -2-Respective Discipline (Subject knowledge) for 65 questions.
  • 3 marks to be awarded for each correct answer and 1 mark to be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Qualifying marks:

  • General Category (UR)/EWS – 40% marks
  • SC/ST/OBC/PWBD – 30% marks.
